1616 & 1617 -- Patrilineal ancestors of George Washington, U.S. President

40777 -- Maria Ebriaci was a member of a prominent Pisan merchant family, which appears to have originally been converted Jews ("Hebriacus").

40844 -- PBE 51 quotes a "MS in Bib. Cott. f. 4b" which says, of Robert de Bellême, "He would not permit poor captives to be redeemed, but murder them: under pretences of playing with his own little godson he thrust out his eyes with his thumbs. He used to thrust sharp stakes through the bodies of men and women from the fundament to the mouth, and the greatest slaughter of peoples was his chiefest delight." [some three and a half centuries before Vlad Ţepeş]

As for Robert's mother, Mabel, PBE quotes Orderic, who said "She was one of the wickedest characters that disgraced even the age in which she lived." ODNB 23953 says "Whatever allowances can be made for Mabel there must have been something particularly aggressive and brutal about her for four of her vassals to ride at night into her castle at Bures[-sur-Dives] and cut off her head as she lay in her bed after a bath (Chibnall, 107-8)."
