By the daughter of a soldier in Scotland, he had (before she was 18) three
illegitimate children, one of whom, when she was 19, m. Col. 
Suckling, of the 3rd Dragoon Guards, many years Master of Windsor Barracks,
a nephew of the mother of Nelson.

At least one part of the note is inaccurate, as the marriage to Col. Suckling occurred almost 23 years after the death of the Duke.
